+ symbol in Contact phone numbers...

Does anyone happen to know why a + symbol appears in from of the phone
numbers I enter into my Outlook 2003 contacts... I need the numbers to
appears an 1(416)123-3245 so the number will appear this same way in my PDA
phone. If the number shows in this format in my phone, when I place a call
the mobile phone will automatically identify if the call is local or long
distance and use the 1(416) accordingly...

Starting to get very annoyed trying to find a resolve to this...

ANYONE!! lol

Thanks

It usually means you have selected the option to automatically add the
country code to local numbers in Outlook's Dialing Options dialog.
See if you did. You'll find that dialog in Contacts > Actions > Call Contact
