Symantec v Microsoft, Help

Hi,

Sorry guys, but I really please need some unbiased help. I need to get this
cleared up before I even think about SP2. I will try to keep this short as it
has been ongoing for 3 wks now.

I have Windows XP Home SP1, IE6SP1, Pentium 4. My system has been clean
since 7/17 :) after running Adaware6 & that was left overs from previous
removals of programs and malware. And I have even ran Hijack This for the
heck of it.

After a system restore, NAV2004 is getting Common Client Log Viewer Error
(cclgview.exe, msvcr70.dll) send report to Microsoft, when I click View
Reports. Everything else is working fine. And with NPF2003 (CD) installed
also, I also get Symantec Integrator error (nmain.exe and msvcr70.dll). I
called Symantec and they cleaned *everything* Symantec/Norton off my
computer. Used their removal tools for both products. Used msicuu2.exe and
scripten.exe. Only reinstalled NAV2004 from the download. Still getting the
log viewer error. Symantec said call Microsoft that it was something in the
OS. I called MS and they said its a Symantec product. I called Symantec back,
and a Senior Tech said that from all that has been going on there is a
scripting error in Windows and finally suggested to reformat my hard drive.
I have a Dell. :) I do not get any other errors, all my programs work with
no problem.

I get no other errors, only on their site. Tonight I did get IE not
responding (iexplore.exe, hung app), report to Microsoft, on their site. And
one other time on their site IE nonresponsive (iexploere.exe, ntdll.dll),
report to Microsoft.

I've never had a problem with NAV or NPF until I did this system restore.
Has anyone else had these errors? Does anyone have a suggestion to help me
out of this caught-in-the-middle dilemma? Do I have a problem with windows?
Or is to refomat my only option?
Thanx,
Judy

Many complaints in these newsgroups concerning Symantec. Did you uninstall
it to see what happened?

Hi Jerry,
Yes. Please see my paragraph 4. Symantec walked me all the way through *all*
of it until I got to Live Update. I have dial up. yuck.
Thanks.

snip..

Not much help to you, but it has taken me 3 months of going back and fourth
with Symantec just to get NAV2004 running. Won't be going that way again
when it comes up for renewal.
