Switching between email accounts

I have two email addresses. I have properly (I think) listed both of them
and marked the more used one as the default. However, the non-fault one is
the only one that opens. Am I missing something? Just got this new computer
with Vista. How do I switch between the emal accounts? I've tried removing
both and adding the main one I use and the other one is still the one that
opens when I click to open email. Both email addresses worked fine with the
other computers which didn't have Vista.

They have removed the Identities feature in WinMail. You have both accounts
for the same user name so WinMail cannot open to just one account. You
don't switch between accounts; messages from both go to the same inbox, so
you have a mixed situation.

Thanks, Steve. You'll get a laugh out of me! I knew they did away with
identities but because I couldn't get emails from one of the addresses, I
thought I was just doing something really wrong. Well, I was. I forgot I
had the other computer on and signed in with my email inbox open-everytime I
was sending an email to test the new computer out, it was opening on the
other computer first!!! Duh! All is well now and I really appreciate your
response. Thanks.

Hi Steve,
I don't care for that idea very much that they have done away with switching
identities.
What if one doesn't want anyone else see the incoming mail from the other/s
identity?
I still have my other computer and this gives me one more reason to stick
with XP on it.
Microsoft I think you will have to re-think a few issues relating to Windows
Mail.
The above being one and not having a Contact list below the Folder list are
just two of the issues.
Having the Contact list is so useful, as one only had to double click on a
contact to bring up a new mail
with that contact already showing.

It makes sense to stick with any OS until you have a good reason to
upgrade....
eg. you need a new OS to use a particular application or piece of hardware.

They are releasing a new product this coming week

If you want privacy, each user should get their own Windows user login.

It's just a different way of working that you will soon get used to.
Click "New Message" and start composing your email. When done,
click 'To' and select the recipients.

The Identities feature gave a false sense of privacy. In actuality anyone
could read your messages from any Identity.

I did write a replacement program that puts the Identities feature back into
WinMail. www.oehelp.com/WMIDs/
