MS discussion group,
I have recently added about 12 XP PCs/laptops to a domain
from a workgroup. Prior to the switch, users were able to
add printers to the workgroup and if shared could access
others printers. After the switch, they are not able to
add printers. What happens is that you can start the add
process but get stopped as the network searches for
available printers to add. When the results come back, no
printers show, and the search screen appears ready for a
new search for network printers.
Could this be a rights issue? Prior to the switch, each
PC/laptop had 2 unlimited accounts on it in XP and 1
limited account. Does the domain automatically default to
the most restrictive account when setting up whether or
not a domain user can add?
