Switch Outlook 2003 view back to Outlook 2007?

I have been using Outlook 2007 for several months now and like it.
Today—without doing anything that could have caused this (at least to my
knowledge)—my Outlook 2007 view converted back to Outlook 2003. When I create
a new message, reply to a message or try to forward a message though, the
Outlook 2007 format is provided as before, but then the main page is back in
the 2003 view/format.

What could have caused this switch? How can I go back to a full Outlook 2007
view/format?

Thanks,

Rolf Wigand

What exactly do you mean? The main Outlook window never featured a Ribbon
interface. Only when opening or creating items there is a Ribbon.

I am not sure what a Ribbon interface is. The main opening page of my Outlook
2007--I double checked, i.e. I am in Outlook 2007--looks just like the
opening page in Outlook 2003, but then reverts back to 2007 when I create a
new message, respond or forward. Strange. How can I make sure the opening
page is in the original 2007 version? I don't care to go back to the 2003
vie/look, etc.

The Ribbon is the new button and tab style layout in various Office 2007
applications which replaces the Menu and Toolbar based layout featured in
Office 2003. Word, Excel and PowerPoint 2007 have fully adopted this new
layout which is called the Ribbon.

Outlook 2007 also has a Ribbon when creating and opening items. The main
Outlook 2007 window doesn't have a Ribbon interface but uses a Menu and
Toolbar interface just like Outlook 2003.
