Switch font for nonsupported languages

I have downloaded a true type font from the Internet. I have a Norwegian
layout on my keybord. In my language there are tree letters that is special
for Norwegian. My downloaded true type does not support these three letters.
My problem is that when i'm writing in my MS Word, with my downloaded font,
all is well as long as i don't use the three special letters. The
auto-settings in MS Word switches to "Times New Roman", and keeps on using
"...Roman" for the rest of my writing.
Q: How can i set my MS Word to only switch to "...Roman" at the letters that
is special for my language, and not for the rest.

I would discourage mixing fonts this way. If the font you want to use is not
suitable for typing in Norwegian, I would either use TNR or find another
font that does contain the required characters (which are by no means
unusual and should be found in most fonts).
