Question: Are there any cases of the SWEN infecting a system WITHOUT
opening the attachment?

opening the attachment?

Yes, as I said last time, since it can infect via IRC, Kazaa, open
network shares, etc. It can also infect from the preview pane if you
have a very old, un-patched, version of OE.

groups.google.com will find you the original message and replies, even
is microsoft's NNTP server has contrived to lose it.

No. If you are getting messages from your av program and you are
absolutely sure you didn't open the attachment, then the av program is
probably picking up the infected attachments in emails. Post back with
details if you need more help.
