when i bought my computer i had a choice on whether or
not to install Windows ME or Windows 2000. Not knowing
much about the difference in the 2 versions i chose to
install Windows ME. Now i just recently purchased a new
printer and in order for me to use it my computer must
have Windows XP or Windows 2000. My question is... is
there any way that i can swap my Windows ME over to
Windows 2000 since at one point i had the option of
choosing between the two? wouldnt windows 2000 still be
somewhere on my computers memory?

Hi,

You can't upgrade WinME to Win2000, as WinME was released after it and it's
not a supported upgrade path. It would have to be a clean install.

Leslie, whether or not you can install Win2000 depends on the system
recovery and setup disks you were given with the pc. If they (the
ditributors) preinstalled one or the other for you, I would imagine they
only supplied a recovery set for the OS that you chose.

You'll need to "upgrade" to Windows 2000.

After upgrading to Windows 2000, visit the following
website and download/install SP4:
