Swapping out Raid 1 drives

One of our Win2k servers has 2 physical drives in a Raid
1 config. Each is 30 GB. We are out of space and would
like to swap these out for 80 GB drives. Is it possible
to swap out the drive that doing the mirroring with one
of the new drives (80GB), let the mirror establish all of
the data on the new drive. Then swap out the remaining 30
GB drive with the new 80GB, and let the mirror establish
the data again on this new drive?

I hope this makes sense. But the gist of it is, we would
like to swap out our 30GB drives in a RAID 1, with 80GB
drives, without restoring data from the backup.

Thanks.

Nah, it's not that easy. When you mirror your 30GB drive onto your 80GB
drive, you'll wind up with a 30GB drive with 50GB of unused/unusable space.

You might try mirroring the 30GB to the 80GB then using something like
Partition Magic to reclaim the wasted space.

Another way which I know works is to break the mirror, take a Ghost image of
the primary drive, dump the Ghost image onto your 80 gigger using all the
space, make the 80 gigger be the primary boot drive and install the new 80GB
mirror dirve. Boot and reestablish the mirror.
