After going through alot of message boards out there & umpteen 'fixes', can
anyone tell me the easiest fix for this?
Does MS have a patch?
Best way to get it?
Any advice appreciated!

What version of svchost.exe is on your system?

I was thinking there was an updated svchost.exe that fixed this but in
looking through fixes for this, an updated svchost.exe isn't there. I
did have the similar problem and updating the msi.dll was the fix I
think. Try the following update first::
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927891

If that doesn't help any, try the next update:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/939273

To get this update, you have to click the link
http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=6294451 and then fill in the form with
your computer info (Windows XP SP2, 32-bit or 64-bit, English, and a
valid e-mail address). Microsoft will send you the patch via e-mail
link to a password protected file. Give it a shot.
