svchost.exe

Lately I have had some problems with a system file "svchost.exe". Everytime
I am on the internet Windows 2000 give me following error message
"svshost.exe has generated errors and will be closed by WIndows, you will
need to restart Windows"

Resulting my internet connection and different functions are very slow and
sometimes not even working.



Does anyone know how to deal with this issue and what causes these
problems...a virus, software or perhaps a hardware issue...?

Have a look at other messages in this newsgroup that contain 'svchost'
in the Subject.
