What does it mean when I get an error messege saying "The instuction at
"0x7c919902" referenced memory at "0x76ce1e44". The required data was not
placed into memory because of an 1/0 error status of "0xc000009c""

Hello,

Ensure you have a proper backup in case CHKDSK messes up:
Start > Run > CHKDSK /F > Y > Reboot

Also try doing a system restore if the problem is not fixed
Start > Programs > Accessories > System tools > System Restore
