My WIndows XP Proferssional seems to boot OK, logon works
OK but when it starts to load programs, I get the
message "The iunstruction at "OX77f57bd2" referenced
memory at "0X00000010". The memory could not be read.
It then states that it was SCVHOST -Application error?

Any advice here or suggestions would be appreciated.

Double check your spelling and repost in this same thread. You have both
SVCHOST (header) and
SCVHOST listed in your post.
One is a normal system funtion the other is a virus!
