sutting down drivers

my computer keeps sutting down my dvd drivers I've had
my dvd for about 2 months and it only started sutting
down about a week ago stating thay may cause problems
what can l do

What is "sutting down"? I thought it was a typo until the third mentioning.
Is this a message it is giving you?
