suspend mode

Can anyone please tell me how to stop my laptop going into suspend mode
before I completely lose my grip? Every time I leave my desk for any length
of time the laptop goes into suspend mode,I have been into the power
settings, changed them etc but when I have to do a reboot it goes back to the
old settings, and once again into suspend mode when I leave it.Any advice
would be great.

Angela,

This is not the right group for this question, you should first search
through the more general newsgroups,
like

microsoft.public.windowsxp.perform_maintain, or
microsoft.public.windowsxp.general, and then if you don't find an
answer, ask again in one of those groups.

Quick thoughts:
1) is your computer on a domain at work? ask your domain admin, he may
have forced this to happen.
2) try looking in control panel for a manufacturer specific settings
panel, this may override windows default ones.
3) Visit mfr support site, check for BIOS updates, etc.
4) there may be multiple power profiles for plugged in and on battery,
or if your computer is not plugged in, this might happen if the
battery is running down.

Good Luck!
