SUS Update Issues

All,

I have a SUS Server up and running, it has sync'd and now
I am pointing clients to it manually, using the guidance
in the deployment guide by manually altering (adding)
registry keys.

After I alter the keys, I start/stop the automatic updates
service and/or restart the machine. For some reason the
system does not go to my SUS Server.

Hints? War stories? Thanks.
 
I know in my case I had to wait up to 24 hours for the
client to check-in with the server.

Do you mean after you run Windows Update? Keep in mind, Windows update will
alwasy go to Microsoft. The client will automatically check the SUS server
for updates at a random time. You have no control over this time but you do
have control over when the updates are applied.
