can I instal SUS SP1 on w2k pro?
What other shell I do instal on w2k pro to run SUS SP1 on
it
 
Remember that W2K pro has a connection limit (only so many computers can
connect to it at one time). That would make it very difficult for a small
or medium sized business to run updates.

Actually, I don't even think that SUS SP1 will install on a W2K Pro box.
Your most realistic option is to bite the bullet and install W2K/W2K3 server
and then roll SUS/WSUS.
