SUS Client

Hi all,

Dose anyone know why I can not install SUS client on a
windows 2000 professional with service pack 4.

I also have the same issue with XP professional service
pal 1.

Please let me know.

There is no need to install the SUS Client. It is already present. You CAN NOT
make the necessary changes via the WINDOWS UPDATE PROGRAM USER INTERFACE(local).
In order the get the Windows Update Client to communicate with the Intranet SUS
Server, you MUST either edit your GROUP POLICY Settings via GREDIT.MSC
(WINNT\SYSTEM32\) or edit the REGISTRY.

(GROUP POLICY - Once you start the policy editor, you must then IMPORT the
Administrative template found in your unzipped SUS Setup Directory.) Refresh
your screen and follow the driections in the SUS Deployment Whitepaper.
