SUS Client

Hi,
I have setup a Microsoft Software Update Services(SUS)
server for Autoupdate and Security Pacthes , when I try to
install SUS client for Windows 2000 and Windows XP on
windows XP Professional it gives me folllowing error.

" Microsoft Windows Update Auto Update requires windows
2000 SP2 or Windows XP"

Please remember I have downloaded the client from MS site
and trying to install it on the WindowsXP professional SP1
PC.

Please help.

Windows XP SP1 already is SUS aware. You just need to use Group Policy to
point it at your internal SUS server.

I tried this after getting lost in the accompanying
instructions but reckon since you have SP1 for XP you
don't need to install the client software.

it says quiet right
windows 2000 pro must have service pack 2 installed
and windows xp profesional with no service pack installed

You may however want ot update the wuau.adm
template on XP Sp1 systems that are not in an
Active Directory domain.
