Surprise removal of PC Card

Hi all,

Wireless Modem PC5740 has a OHCI controller.
While VZAcess(Connectivity Application) is running I unplug(suprise removal)
and plug the PC5740 card back in that Windows XP and Vista didn't know the
card bas been plugged back in.

Microsoft says:
http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/system/pnppwr/hotadd/XPrem-devs.mspx

"Although providing robust surprise-removal support is a long-term and
challenging prospect that will involve work on the part of Microsoft and
hardware vendors, there is some positive movement toward this goal in the
Windows XP timeframe:" ... in other words, don't be surprised if surprise
removal doesn't work.

how can I solve this problem? who is giving the solution from Microsoft?

Thank you for your reply.

I'm a software(includes device driver) engineer for PC-5740. I just think
it's PCI and OHCI driver problem. So I want to know how to contact Microsoft
Engineer.

Please post your question in the driver development newsgroup:
microsoft.public.development.device.drivers

That is a MSDN managed NG, so if you have MSDN membership, your question
will be reviewed by a Microsoft rep.
If it is possible, please let me know why do you think Verizon software has
a problem.

Well...I've guessed that VZ means Verizon - apology if this is wrong.
The problem as you describe it, usually occurs when an app fails to detect
surprise removal of it's device and keeps the driver handle open.
When user inserts the card again, the driver
is busy and won't react to the device arrival.
Cardbus controller in modern laptops is rarely a problem.
