No USB 2.0 PCI Host Adapter Card Support Driver usbuhci causing blue

Well, here it is everyone. I have xp pro installed with
SP1 update as well. I decided to upgrade to USB2.0 due
to my Western Digital USB 2.0 ready 120GB Ext. HD.

So I bought a cheap 2 port USB 2.0 PCI Interface Card by
Wise Land (whom I have never heard of before, web address
is www.microwiseinc.com), however the driver appears to
be written by ALI, a name I recognized. I install the
adapter card in my #6 PCI slot knowing, by the way, that
xp pro with sp1 is supposed to have the proprietary
drivers already installed and ready to use. SO, I follow
do the standard installation procedure and a message
comes up (do not remember verbatum) that says..."You do
not need to install drivers.....sp1 already has the
drivers you need to recognize the device you are
installing...." or something to that effect.

THE PROBLEM: When I plug in my USB WD Hard Drive I
immediately get a message...,"HI-Speed device plugged
into Non Hi-Speed USB Port" So, I go back and try to
force the ALi drivers that came with the Card and that is
when I realize that not only does xp pro give the "you do
not need to install drivers for this device..." but that
xp pro/sp1 will not allow you to install another driver
either. SO, no full-speed capability from my external
hard drive. This is a big deal since I have designated
this drive as my multi-media storage unit and the amount
of data being exchanged at the USB 1.1 exchange rate is
causing some sort of bottlenecking in my system and
causing it to either totally freeze up with a continuous
high pitched tone screaming from my hi-fidelity a/v
component system or, even more scary, the bluse screen of
death referring to the driver usbuhci.sys as being the
culprit. It has been 3 months now and I GIVE UP!!!!

i posted a reply to someone else with a USB2.0 problem, if you didn't read
it(?)...You found out that you didn't need to install anything else except
Sp1, which you have taken care of.... The PCI card is more than likely the
culprit, as was the case with mine...
I bought a cheapo card and had all the same problems.. Bought a Belkin card
at 3x the cost and it worked like a charm without insalling anything on the
disc that came with it.. I beleive the difference is the chip on the
card...Belkin has an NEC chipset and the cheapo had a VIA chip...It
shouldn't make any difference (usb2.0 is usb 2.0) but it did.....Trust me on
this one...
