Suppress warning banner on logon

W

William Hymen

Thanks in advance,

I recently swapped my home machine from
a company-built 2000pro to windowsXP sp2

I need to install the MS resource kit "autolog" utility,
but on Windows XP, my company installed a
intermediate "warning banner popup", which
requires clicking OK. This screws up Autolog.

I even need to click OK when autolog is enabled,
(but then autolog completes fine.)

How to I search for and disable the warning banner
pop-up? (in the registry?)

Thanks,

Bill

Delete the text here...

LegalNoticeCaption
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

If the value of this entry is NOT blank, a message box with this caption and
the message specified in the value of the LegalNoticeText entry appears
before the Log On to Windows dialog box appears. The user must click OK in
the message box to continue logging on.

Also delete the text here...

LegalNoticeText
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

If the value of this entry is NOT blank, a message box displaying the value
of this entry appears before the Log on to Windows dialog box appears. The
user must click OK in the message box to continue logging on.

Also the message does not appear when the value of disablecad is 1.

Or...

DisableCAD
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
