Suppress program listing in Add/Remove

Hello:

Does anyone know if there is a method (registry hack, whatever) to prevent
the listing of a program in the Add/Remove list? I have a program installed
on users' machines that needs to be installed and function properly, but it
would help me out a great deal if it weren't listed in Add/Remove Programs.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

search in the registry for the program name, it would usually be listed in
the UNINSTALL folder...if you remove it from there, it should disappear from
add/remove list.

I have had success doing this by going to;
HKLM>Software>Microsoft>Windows.CurrentVersion>Uninstall
Then you must go down through the strings under "Uninstall" and look in the
right pane next to "DisplayName" when you find the one you want, double
click "DisplayName" and change the value to what you want.

BE CAREFUL IN THE REGISTRY. IF YOU SCREW IT UP WINDOWS MAY FAIL.

TweakUI (part of Powertoys for XP) will help you with the "removal" of the
Add/Remove Programs entries, without needing to do it in the Registry
Editor.
