Add or Remove Program Question

Fred 2002

I have a few programs in the Add or Remove Programs listing which, when I
try to remove them, I get a message saying the underlying programs cannot be
found, That's fine, but I would still like to delete the reference to these
programs in the Add/Remove listing. Is there a way to do this? Thanks in
advance!

If the programs have been removed but their reference is still present
in Add/Remove programs then edit the registry to remove the reference to
them.

Removing Invalid Entries in the Add/Remove Programs Tool
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=310750

Locations in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

[David Candy]
There are other keys. Some things exist in two places.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Installer\Products
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products

And the above get built here
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App
Management\ARPCache

If you never uninstalled those programs then they should be uninstalled
property. Try reinstalling / then uninstalling.
