Super Newbie - Excuse my ignorance. How do I limit which users can access the internet? (WinXP PRO)

Hello

I am trying to set up Windows XP Pro to only allow certain user accounts to
access the internet. I would still like all accounts to access the LAN
since the printer is on the network.

Is there a way in the user account settings, security policies, or
permissions, or other??? to allow / disallow internet use for certain users?
I specifically would like to disallow email, internet explorer, and chat
programs, but a blanket internet block would be great.

Thanks, Derrick

I think your best bet is to invest in a personal firewall that can separate settings
for different users assuming they are not administrators. There really is no
effective way to do such IMHO using the operating system. You can use tweaks to deny
access to the internet via Internet Explorer, but there are still ways for a user to
access the internet with other software. --- Steve
