one program i use needs j2se runtime environment 5.0 update 6 in order for it
to work a coffie cup icone has to be shown in my control panal but nothen i
do can get the icon there HELP

Are you downloading the software from sun.com/java/ and installing it
according to the instructions?

yes i am i had this problem once befor but dont know what i did to make it work

Try the following:

Launch Internet Explorer and from the Toolbar select:
Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Restore Defaults,
then click Apply.

If still not resolved, uninstall your current version of Java,
then download and install the Manual Offline Installation version:
http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

P.S. Make sure to close IE before beginning the installation.
