SumIF Formula

Below is the formula I am using - is there a way to make the formula look at
$E:$E and $K:$K instead of defining a specific range?

=SUMIF('[2005 Totals.xls]2005 Sales'!$E$2:$E$38,"IM-natl",'[2005
Totals.xls]2005 Sales'!$K$2:$K$38)

You didn't want to try it before you asked? Yes SUMIF can use the whole range,
since your formula isn't in the same workbook as the one you are getting
information from, remember that both workbooks need to be open

I did try it and I got the Num error - that is why I was asking.

This will work

=SUMIF('[2005 Totals.xls]2005 Sales'!$E:$E,"IM-natl",'[2005 Totals.xls]2005
Sales'!$K:$K)

You can get a value error if [2005 Total.xls] is closed

range,
since your formula isn't in the same workbook as the one you are getting
