What books on the topic of .NET framework are truely exceptional for a
software developer?

Read quite a few reviews on amazon lately and the two books that stand
out for me are;

I do recommend "Applied Microsoft.NET Framework programming" by Jeffery
Richter and "Programming .NET components" by Juval Lowy.

Hi,
I did translation work on "Practical .net and C#2" by patrick smacchia, it
gives a pretty good overview of the internal workings of the compiler and
framework.

The other day I was looking for a book on C# and patterns (so not
GOF), found these two books:

Any suggestions? Both seem to get very good reviews on amazon.
