Suggestions for BCM SP2

1. Possibility to link things (such as files) to a project task.
Presently, a file can only be linked to a project.

2. Make it hard to delete.
It is too easy to delete a project with hundreds of project tasks and
history items.
Perhaps with a windows "Are you sure you want to delete?"

3. Mini rights management. It would be great if one could define at least 2
or 3 groups (Executives, Management, Employee) so that not everybody has
access to everything. It would not need to be a full scaled rights management.

4. Possibility to move a project task from one project to another.

5. "Copy" button for project tasks.
Let's say a project task is assigned to me, completely defined with
categories, remarks, links, ... e.g. "Prepare annual report"
I need to assign sub task to many people:
- Annual report - design layout
- Annual report - insert financial sheets
....
Each time I have to create a new project task and fill each an every fields.
It would be just easier to have a button to copy the project task, and then
just change a few fields. A little like "new contact from existing account".

6. Make it easier to customize the default views in BCM and in BCM forms
(for example the contacts list of form Account) so that people only see what
is relevant to them. Often, the only way to get what we want is a report, but
it's not optimal, especially because it is so complex to open customized
forms (why is it so?)

7. Most important: make it more reliable.

8. Also important: make it way faster. With brand new computers with 2GB of
RAM, big dual cores, big graphic cards, Outlook 2007 with BCM is slow.

Thanks a lot,
Cedric

Reliability has become somewhat of a problem for me too. Along with more
real-time data availability. I have a very fast computer loaded with RAM,
and it takes sometimes a few minutes to "see" an update.

yep !

9. Ability to modify the graphics in pipeline, funnel, etc. If this is
possible, I have not found it.

10. I realize this is not the same level of product as say salesforce.com,
but a random walk through the demos of salesforce.com or even the free
zoho.com would provide many enhancement opportunities.

I believe that in SP1 the polling interval was increased from 1 second
to 1 minute to reduce the load on the database. That would explain
what updates are taking longer. There's Registry key to override the
default polling interval:

11. Add the ability to create "templates" for sets of tasks. For example,
in real estate, when you get a contract, you almost always have to follow the
same basic set of tasks (with a few minor modifications) to get the contract
to closing. It would be nice to be able to set up a "template" for those
tasks and then add them to a project. It's very time consuming to type in
the same 30+ tasks for multiple projects. (In ACT!, this is called an
Activity Series)
