suggestion to the idiots at microsoft

how about in the real release we not base the trial time on the system clock
hmm. I recently set my clock to the correct date on the beta 2 trial and i
cannot register because I get errors. My first error was that my date and
time were wrong so i set my clock and got screwed over. now i cannot do
anything, I am talking to u now because I clicked the buy new product key
online button and it opened firefox. Now when I click any button on the
screen I get when I sign in it hangs for 5 mins then gives me an error.
ANYTHING I do does that with the exception of purchase another product key
(what a coincidence). What idiot bases how long you can use the trial upon
the clock so if you change the date you either make your trial short or
longer. what happens when the final release comes out, and people just borrow
the disc form a friend and use this to use it as long as they want? seriously
i am unbelieveably ticked off. I had the trial for 2 days, and this whole
time I have been trying to register it and now I am screwed over and I dont
know what to do since ctrl+alt+del doesnt work and the only thing that loads
is the register product thing and nothing works on that. I am limited to
useing firefox. thanks for nothin microsoft, I will not be buying vista when
it comes out.

Ok, the people at Microsoft are not Idiots, you know who is the idiot?

The reason you are having trouble with the trial expiring, is because your
clock might be wrong. When your system clock points 05-30-07 06:59:59 p.m.,
Vista will be expired. If Microsoft would have given it a trial counting day
after day, you could simply re-install Beta and have it for another year, so,
doing it this way, they have hope that Beta will be over, but, what if you
just changed the clock to previous time, would that prevent Vista from
expiring? Think about it. You are one of the few having this issue. The world
doesn't spin around you dude, not only because something didn't work to you
means that the people at Microsoft are idiots.

after it hangs for five mins i get an error which means it timed out.

I'm going to try to reinstall vista by going on xp and running the disc and
hopefully it will reset the trial if not I will be at a lvl of ticked off I
cant even imagine.

Wow. I probably shouldn't be responding to your post, but I couldn't
resist. First of all, a few facts:

- Microsoft Windows Vista Beta 2 is not a trial...it is Beta.
- You are absolutely incorrect about what you call "trial time"

Man, you are just one of those people that need to get a clue...and for
Christ's sake...please don't post in forums/newsgroups. People like you
should be banned from all message boards for life...just like fat ugly
people should be rendered incapable from having children.

let me clear somethin up. 2 things I didnt call them idiots just because of
vista. I hate microsoft with every fiber of my being. they have caused me
much trouble throughout the years in many areas. and i'm talking about the 15
day trial when you first install it otherwise I wouldnt have any problem. i
cant load xp anymore, I cant fresh install vista onto my harddrive though my
bios (since I cant load an OS). so I'm pretty screwed. why am I in this
situation? because I set my clock to today's date!

Tim - What type of comments are those, the ones that fat, ugly people should
not have children? I believe in Karma, what goes around comes around. Maybe
that will hapen to you one day.

Firstmilkman - Hey, there has got to be something you can do. How many keys
did you get? Microsoft issued two keys per person, giving you the ability to
install in up to 20 computers. Try re-installing XP with your disc your
manufactor provided you with. That's the best way to start brand new. Once
in, try installing Vista, I suggest a clean install, but if you prefer,
upgrade (which won't help because you just started new and you don't have any
files). Or if not, try inserting your DVD and booting from it, then try
Recovery Environment, but maybe it won't help you, because your problem is
time, right? There has got to be a way to fix your computer. Have you also
tried Safe Mode? Reply back if anything helps.

Funny. You hate Microsoft and want to betatest his products and used XP
previously?

I think you're in the wrong place. Did you heard about Linux or Mac?

Regards,
Angel.

Suggestions and complaints should be submitted using the feedback icon on
your Vista desktop. Microsoft likely won't read them here.
secondly...rofl 'smart' software that has a time bomb in it will crap out
when you change your system time backwards to prevent people from doing
exactly what you said above..setting the time back to keep it going. Well it
doesnt work like that with all software.
So, microsoft are idiots because you had your clock set a year in the
future? (probably to pirate some other time bombed piece of software) Since
you hate MS so much...go buy a mac and bother those people

Colin Barnhorst

Actually, the time changes are an absolute value. Changing back just
compounds the problem.

The 15 day time is NOT a trial, it is simply the time interval you have
until you need to activate.
Some use it as a trial, but that does not make it a trial period.

Changing the clock only makes the time shorter regardless which direction
you go.
This is at least partially to stop people from adjusting the date to get
more time.

I never have this problem, but then Icheck the date/time before installing
any OS especially when there is a time limitation.

Jupiter Jones [MVP]

As has already been said it is not a trial.
It is also not Registration, that is optional.
You are referring to Activation which is required after the 15 days.

This may be best for you since you "I hate microsoft with every fiber of my
being. they have caused me much trouble throughout the years in many areas."

You really do not make sense.
If you hate Microsoft as much as you say, you would avoid their products,
especially the Betas..
Instead you complain

Do you suppose if I set the clock ahead to July of next year, my beta 2 will
become GA?
