Would like to see Microsoft improve Outlook email folder search.
In Outlook Express, the software could search through the BODY of 30,000+
emails in 30 seconds or less.
In Outlook 2003, this becomes a huge chore which takes 5-7 minutes on a
machine with 2 gig and 3ghz P4 processor.. plenty of power to do the job.
Outlook searches through email body's fast only when the folder has already
been indexed. But it takes forever the first search, especially on a large
folder say 30,000 + emails.
Would like to see Microsoft offer a patch to outlook that would allow
Outlook to "pre index" all mail folders at night so that during business
hours, the search function works fast.
