Sufficient rights to rename a disk...?

K

Kenneth

Howdy,

I am logged on to my Win 2000 Pro box with Administrator
Rights.

When I try to rename one of the disks, I get the message
that I do "not have sufficient rights to perform this
operation."

How can I rename this thing?

Very sincere thanks,

I don't think you can rename a disk but you can certainly
relabel a partition. Launch My Computer, right-click the
partition (e.g. drive C:), then rename it.
I assume you're trying to set the label of some
partitions.

Howdy,

I thank you for your suggestion, but had tried to do just
that with no success.

Eventually, I solved the problem with the DOS Label
function.

All the best,
