I went away for a few days and shut down my computer.
When I returned, I started it and left it on as usual.
The following day, it was on a shut off mode, and I
thought we may have had a power failure of some sort. I
re-started and the following day, found it had shut down.
Today while I was on the internet, it froze for a few
seconds, and then reactivated; froze again a few seconds,
and restarted; then I lost sound. Suddenly, there was a
blue screen to the effect that there was A KERNEL_INPUT_
ERROR and to prevent further damage the machine must be
shut down. The short message also advises to check new
software installation and trouble shoot or uninstall them.
I use a Gigabyte motherboard with a dual bios and a raid
system that links 2 hard drives. In the partition of the
drives (that are seen as 1 big drive) I have 1 partioned
at 37 gig and the other at 133 gig (160 total). I also
have a 2.5 mhz CPU and 1 gig RAM.
I uninstalled Kazaa and P2P networking and hopefully this
solves the problem but who knows? Any clue on this sudden
emergency shutdown?
