Subtotaling items from a list

I require to sort a list that has multible coloums listing items such
as type, size and length. Would very much like to be able to sort
this list and display a total length for all items of the same type.
 
This is a programming news group. For your purpose all
you need to do is use the Data/Filter/AutoFilter method
on your table.
