I'm tired of using the format option to make H2O read with the subscripted 2.
Is there some way I can add the subscripted H2O to autocorrect? Doesn't
seem to want to let me use any font formatting or paste it in. How about the
dictionary? What are my options.

Type H2O, format it the way you want it, and select H2O. In Word 2003
or earlier, click on Tools | AutoCorrect Options | AutoCorrect tab |
Replace: H2O | click the "Formatted text" radio button | Add | OK.

Much the same in 2007 - Word Options > Proofing > Autocorrect Options etc.
