Submit Form requires "Name and password" WHY?

Guest

When a visitor fills in the form and enters "Submit" he is asked for Name and
Password. If he enters in the administrator and a valid password the handler
moves on and performs properly. From that point on ie., submitting more forms
the password is not asked for. I need to configure so no credentials are
required to submit the form data. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Make sure the form is not in the _private folder

Tom, thanks. I am using two forms, both are at the root. The text results of
one I found in the _private, the other forms results I found at the root. I
re routed the one that went to _private to the root . Tested, I still had to
enter in a user/password. both forms wrote the date to the proper .txt files
in the root . This cleanup didnt fix the problem. What now? Please

The results from the forms need to be written to the _private folder, but the actual forms can not
be in the _private folder.

I am having trouble with form results in FP 2002 as well - particularly, I am
trying to add a file upload command and thus, a folder to catch the results.
I have followed the instructions in the FP help, and it will not give me the
options to make a folder accessible to the public. Any idea why this would
be? My server is running FP extensions, and I followed all the instructions
for modifying the properties.

For File upload see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;299763&Product=fp2002

Are you doing this on the live/remote server?
Is the server Windows IIS?
Does your web host allow you to use the FP Upload component?

I'm back. The forms submit is working okay, but now I am asked for
credentials when I open the index page. (home) One time only. From that
point on every thing works ok. (FP2000 on Server 2003)

Then the permissions are not set correctly.
