submenu buttons losing there behavior

G

Guest

I have set up my main menu along with the submenus, but I am having problems
keeping the the submenu active. I set up each button, in the submenu, with
a behavior, test and it works, but if I leave it alone or go and work on
another submenu...test.. it seems like I lose the behavior of each submenu
button on the previous submenu I just worked on. I have been working on
getting the submenu and its buttons to work again, but don't know what I am
doing wrong, and I am following the instructions in the book. Any
suggestions on how to fix this? I am getting a little upset of having to
reset these buttons up again and again.
It also seems that I am having problems with menus that have more than one
button. If I add a submenu with just one button add the behavior..test, it
works fine. Thanks for your help.

Without seeing what you have done, this is guessing...

Some behaviours have an onmouseout option that restores the previous
state (before onmouseover). This can only be used for one button at a
time - if button one extends a menu, then you cannot use this onmouseout
feature on button 2 - you would have to define an onmouseout behaviour
for both buttons, as well as the onmouseover behaviour.

Ronx:

I will upload this specific page so you can take a look at it. It will be
under nooksack-tribe.org/admin.

Let me know what you think. Thanks

Please go to www.nooksack-tribe.org/Administration1. There you will see
what I am trying to do. The submenu drops down, but the entire menu
disappears. I applied the behaviors and the buttons work for a while. Like
I said, I can go and work on another submenu, but I somehow lose the
behaviors in the previous submenu. Your advice on how to fix this would be
greatly appreciated. Please excuse how my other buttons work as I am still
changing and tuning the buttons before I add them to other webpages.

Also, when I get through tuning my menu, I would like to add the menu to
other webpages within my site, can I just do a copy and paste to those other
pages. I didn't want to do this until my first menu was perfected. Thanks
again

Are you basically telling me that I need to re-invent my MainMenu and

I can't use what I already created? Thanks

Once I have re-created this main menu and menu leaf, can I then take what I
have created and copied it to the rest of my webpages? Will there be a
problem doing this? Thanks

Stefan:

I followed the instructions on the info. you gave me, but I seem to be
having a problem.

I have a few questions I need to ask you.

1. I have my webpage set up with a pic at the top, and then two tables.

My question: Is this going to be a problem with creating the main menu
outside the two tables.

The first table (left) I am using for the main menu; the right side
info.

2. I finished the main menu, and when I follow the instructions #10 on the
instruction sheet down to #11 ---Position Absolute button, my main menu
goes under my table, and I cannot drag it to the space I set aside for it
which is the left side of the table.

My question: Can I not insert the Main Menu into the table?

Thanks for your help. I will be looking forward to your answer.

Stefan:

I uploaded my sample webpage with the DHTML on it. Go to
http://www.nooksack-tribe.org/Administration1.htm. If this doesn't work go
to www.nooksack-tribe.org/departments/Administration1.htm. (When you click
on Departments, it will come up with the webpage Administration.htm. just add
a 1 after Administration, if my instructions don't work). Thanks and looking
forward to your suggestion.

|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
