Subform/Subdatasheet problems

The subdatasheet expand indicator does not always display when i open a
form. The main form is in single form view, with a subform (Sub 1) in
datasheet view which itself has a subform (Sub 2) in datasheet view. If I
open Sub 1 directly (in datasheet view) it correctly displays with the
expand indicator column for Sub 2. However, when in the main form, I only
see Sub 1, and the expand indicator column for the Sub 2 records is hidden.
The strange things is that it will show up occasionally while making design
changes to the form, however when I close and re-open the form, the display
indicators are gone. While in the main form, if I select a record in sub 1,
i can go to the "Format" menu, and the subdatasheet "expand all" and
"collapse all" options are there. But for some reason, the indicator
controls just aren't displaying. Can anyone help me make these always
display?

Thanks

Brian

Update:

This behavior is very repeatable. If I open the form, there is no expand
inicator visible. If I save the form and refresh, The expand indicator will
display and will ocntinue to appear until the next time the form is
completely closed and re-opened again. Is there a property of the form that
access sets / resets on a save or close that I could modify to "trick" the
form into working? Or is there a property that I can create and set that
will fix this behavior?

Thanks
