Hi All,

I have a network with one Domain Controller and I want to
be able to group the computers on my network in a similar
way as possible when using Workgroups.
I, however, do not want to install other DCs so as to
create subdomains of the main domain.
Is this possible? If so, how do I do it?

If that is not possible, is it possible for me to give a
restriction on the computers that a particular machine
sees in My Network Places? Mybe using Group policy?

If DNS can not do it but anyone knows how I can use Group
Policy to do it, please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Browsing is netbios based so DNS does not apply. The only way to accomplish this would be to use netbios scope IDs. This
would allow you to segment the netbios name space. This is a VERY BAD idea and it is not recomended. Only machines that
have the same scope ID can communicate via netbios.

Thank you,
Mike Johnston
