subdomain

I have just created a subdomain for our network. I don't want to have to
recreate the users on the subdomain. I was going to create groups on the
subdomain and add the users from the parent to that domain. Is this the best
way to accomplish this so that they can log on to the subdomain? Thanks for
the help

The users can only logon the domain where their user accounts are located. They can
however access resources in trusted domains if you give them permissions to the
resource. Say for instance you have a server in the child domain and you have a share
on that server. When you configure permissions in a trusted domain you will see that
you can choose users and groups from other trusted domains in the forest to add to
the permissions. By default all W2K domains within a forest trust each other with
transitive trusts. If you get an error such as the user does not have the correct
logon type you may need to add that domain group or users to access this computer
from the network user right in the Local Security Policy for that server. --- Steve
