Subcategories and dual/multicolored labels

Hi,

1. Is it possible to use either an undocumented feature or third party
utilities, to introduce subcategories in Outlook 2003?

2. Further, is it possible to have dual/multicolored labels, instead
of the single colored ones available usually?

To illustrate what I mean, here's an example:

I have my favorite TV shows scheduled in Outlook. They all are
included in Category "TV" and are labelled in a shade of green. I
would like to subcategorize them in TV Channels and/or genre
(Comedy/News etc.). This leads me the first question mentioned above.

Further, I would like the label for this category to show not only the
category color (green) but also different colors for each subcategory
(TV channels for example). Is such a feature or third party utility
available for MS Outlook?

Thanks

Ken

1) You can add your own keywords field, or you can simply use additional
categories, e.g TV and Comedy. But there's nothing to link one category with
a specific set of other categories (or members of another keywords field).

2) No.

Thanks for the quick and precise answers Sue.

I have also tried using the Categories themselves as subcategories,
but this method is almost impossible to implement because

a) This leads to too many (and cluttered) categories, simply
impossible to handle, given the fact that I anyhow have quite a number
of categories already.

b) It is difficult to manage different categories togather (though not
impossible :)), without any visually/graphically available structure,
in the PIM.

It is indeed a pity that there is no way to achieve a proper
subcategorization and a graphical overview of the same (multicolored
labels) in Outlook :-( .

Lets hope that such a solution will soon be developed :) .

Thanks,

Ken
