Sub Report Cacluation on Main Report not working in access 2003

I am using access 2003 and have this in a field on my main
report. Reports.rptquote!hardwaresub!hwaretotal now this
works perfectly in Access XP. The file is in access 2000
file format. What do I have to do so that it reads
correctly in both versions of Access?
 
Is your main report "rptQuote"? If so, try
=HardwareSub.Report.HwareTotal
