My laptop was infected with threats such as downloader.trojan and
download.trojan so I went on the Symantec website to see possible solutions
for getting rid of them, as Microsoft anti-spyware and Norton anti-virus
could not eliminate them automatically. One of the steps was to go into safe
mode in order to help diagnose the problem. When i try to start the computer
in safe mode, it does not accept my password. My buddy suggested going to
safe mode with networking, but that option simply brings me back to regular
safe mode. No matter what option I choose with the F8 menu, my computer goes
back to the safe mode log-in screen. Any ideas on what the problem might be?
Any solutions?
Thanks...Greg

Is it XP Pro? If so you need to enter the password for the in built
Administrator account - the password you assigned when the OS was
installed. For XP Home the default password for the Administrator
account is blank so just hit enter.

Next time DO NOT install trojans or malware. It's up to to to practice
safe computing.
