Hi there,

I need to stress out my system.... for temp tests, crash testing, etc...

I've heard there's math stress tests available for this...

Anyone know of any good ones?

Thanks,

Gordon

Carey,

Ha ha ha, that's a good one... but yes, there are math stress tests for CPUs
out there somethere.....??

Gordon

seti at home will run your cpu at 100 percent, not really a test, but you
can watch your temp rise a little!

Prime95, at http://www.mersenne.org/freesoft.htm, will stress your CPU -esp.
the FP pipe(s). It cranks up the temp. on my P4 by 13°C or so.

Folding at Home (http://folding.stanford.edu) is another distributed computing
project that will do the same thing -- run the CPU at 100%. It has a bonus of
doing significant scientific research that has direct application to medicine.

I'm not opposed to SETI, but F@H has already produced significant results, and
IMO is a much better cause.
