streaming video no longer works

I've been trying out and uninstalling some browsers lately - mostly
Mozilla beta and previously full version. I still use IE 6.x and
Netscape 6.x. So I may have uninstalled or messed something up that
way.

I use windows XP home edition which is what Dell installed when I
bought this computer over a year ago. I used to be able to see
streaming videos with no trouble. I'm not sure which player did it as
there are several that get installed with browsers. But lately, if I
try to view a streaming video from sources I used to watch, it locks
up the browser and never views nor does it give an error message. Task
manager says it is running. And I can use task manager to end it and
go back to using my computer.

Any suggestions of what to do to restore the ability to view streaming
videos?

Just reinstall all three competing players: QuickTime from Apple, RealPlayer
from Real, Windows Media Player from Microsoft.

<She says with a smile> and in what order? Doesn't the last take over
for all previous? <HAHA> I'll try. Thanks for an idea.
