What software is there for downloading and converting streaming media
to mp3 in order to "time shift" and avoid download bottlenecks.

Are there legal issues I should be aware of?

Source forge is down at the moment so I can't check it out.

"Record from analog input" this something like "Total Recorder?"

I want something to turn on at a predetermined time and catch a web
broadcast (if possible)
