each time I start up, a folder window (always the same
one) opens on the desktop. This happens always, even when
there are no windows/folders/apps open at time of last
shut down. How do I fix this?

Thanks!!

thanks for your reply! But it's not the system32 folder,
its the folder "c:\Kazaa" (he admits with embarrassment!).

could you point me to the place in the registry where
windows looks to see what start-up state it should be in?
I'm assuming it's an invalid entry there, or somewhere
similar.

Thanks (again)!
