Strange thing noticed in Microsoft Outlook Newsreader.

I just discovered a strange thing in the Outlook Newsreader. When I view a
post from a newsgroup, in the preview pane, if I right click VERY VERY FAST
several times (VERY RAPIDLY) while moving my mouse around, Internet Explorer
will open and will launch the MSN web page! I've done this repeated times
to see if it still happens, and it does. The right click menu shows Copy,
Save Picture As, Save Background As, and Select All. Select all is the only
option available. There are no links. It will even do it in a blank
preview pane. I've never seen something so strange before. Any ideas? Is
it a glitch? The mouse is a Logitech MX510. Actually, I just found out
that you don't even have to do it rapidly, just right click a couple of
times, and IE will open and MSN's website will launch. Even more different,
Firefox is my default web browser. Sometimes it only take a couple of right
clicks to launch IE, and other times it takes a lot.

Stop using an email client to read usenet, get a free Usenet client and
you won't have funny thing happening.

Unique to you, it seems.

I just found out that it will do it in Outlook too. Maybe it's an Office
related problem. I have Office XP. I'll probably go ahead and post this
problem on the office NG as well.

I have no answer to you, but it's certainly not generally true that this
happens in either Outlook 2003 or Outlook Express. Neither works as you
describe here.

Umm Outlook Newsreader is actually Outlook Express in Newsreader only mode.
(Whether you consider Outlook Express to actually be a newsreader or not, is
another matter!)

Yep, I started using Usenet in 84, and have always considered OE to be a
plague on Usenet.

Are you afflicted with a severe nervous disorder, or do you just like to try
to screw things up (-:

It would be interesting to know if a regular mouse would do the same thing.
