Strange thing in "Search" window

Both at home and work I have noticed a strange thing in the Search
windows in XP. If you right click a found file you get a pop-up menu.
When you move across the menu choices you see an explaination in the
status line (at the bottom), BUT when over the "Open containing
folder" choice the explaination is only random weird characters (and
not the same each time). Anyone else noticed this? What is this :-)
