Strange text colors

After the recent windows updates, my wife started noticing very strang text
colors in her Outlook email (HTMl formatted) and some web sites using IE7.
For example most of the text is blue\black but some of the characters are
purple. It is consistant throughout the email, etc. That is all of the
"w's, o's, and a few other charecters" are purple while the rest of the
document is blue or black. If you cut and paste the text into Microsoft Word
or do a reply in outlook, the text appears correctly. If you forward the
email to another computer, it also appears fine. So it is PC specific and
seems to have something to do with html formatting. However, I also noticed
some of the help topics in Outlook have the same problem. I tried playing
with the color settings in IE7 but nothing has helped.

Hi Sam,

Does the same thing happen in Safe Mode (w/networking)?
